The ambition of Prince Olumide Ogunleye to become next traditional ruler of Akinale town of Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State under the Owu kingdom of Egbaland has received a positive boost, as a group consisting of Owu indigenes in the Diaspora has endorsed his candidature.
The group under the aegis of Omo Olowu Oduru in Diaspora gave the endorsement in a communique issued by the Coordinator, Engr Oluyemi Ogundele from Vienna, Austria.
“A group consisting of Owu indigenes in the Diaspora, acting under the aegis of Omo Olowu Oduru in Diaspora, has endorsed one of their own, Prince Olumide Abimbola Ogunleye, the son of the late Oba Dr Olufemi Adewunmi Ogunleye (Towulade of Akinale), as the next monarch of the Akinale kingdom’, the communique emphasised.
The notable body asserted that, after a clinical observation of all the candidates contesting for the elevated position, they concluded that it is only Prince Olumide Abimbola Ogunleye that can take the kingdom to greater heights.
The communique stated that Ogunleye, who is an active member of the association, possesses all the qualities of a good traditional ruler, affirming that he is very intelligent, honest, calm and dynamic.
The group added that the Prince has strong moral fibre, a perfect sense of justice, and personal integrity, which are the ideal characteristics of a king, which are some of the attributes he is best known for.
“He has always been a hardworking and energetic, well-spoken prince. Above all, he would be able to protect and maintain law and order in the kingdom. The Owu indigenes in Diaspora therefore conclude that Prince Olumide Abimbola Ogunleye remains the best man for the job”, the communique declared.
