Ade…urges IGP to call to order police officer from PortHarcourt brought to cause trouble in Ede

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Saturday, cast his vote in the ongoing election, raising the alarm of an alleged plot to rig the election.

Adeleke, who is the candidate of the Accord Party, cast his vote at Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area, while expressing confidence that he would emerge victorious despite all rigging plots by the All Progressives Congress.

The governor arrived at the polling unit at about 8:32 a.m. in company with a large number of supporters.

While speaking with newsmen, Adeleke expressed concerns over an alleged plan to disrupt the election and prevent voters from exercising their franchise in parts of the state.

He alleged that a police officer identified as “London” from Port Harcourt had been brought into Osun State to cause unrest and disrupt voting, especially in his hometown, Ede.

Adeleke urged the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies to be vigilant and investigate the allegation.

“I want the Inspector-General of Police and all the security agencies to watch out, to be on the lookout for a police officer from Port Harcourt,” Adeleke said.

Adeleke urged the police authorities and other security agencies to investigate the allegation and take necessary action.

The governor further alleged that there were plans to bypass the established electoral collation process.

“I have it on authority of information that they don’t want to go through the normal process from units to ward and to local government,” Adeleke alleged.

He claimed that those behind the alleged plan wanted to move the process directly to the collation centre, insisting that such a move would not be acceptable.

“They want to just take it all the way to the collation centre. And that is not acceptable. They must follow the rules,” he said.

Adeleke also called on residents to remain vigilant throughout the election, urging them to watch out for any attempt to disrupt the process.

“And all my people are there to watch out,” he said.

Despite the concerns he raised, Adeleke expressed confidence in his electoral prospects, declaring, “I know, by the grace of God, I’m winning this election.”
