Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, says the shooting incident that occurred outside the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, on Wednesday, had nothing to do with him or his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Davido made this clarification in a post on his official X account on Wednesday, shortly after suspected hoodlums reportedly attacked the governor’s convoy following his visit to the monarch’s palace.

“It was a fight outside the palace that had nothing to do with us! The pple love excellency!” the singer wrote.
Earlier, It was reported that the attack resulted in an exchange of gunfire between the suspected hoodlums and the governor’s security personnel, with the shooting lasting between 12 and 15 minutes.
An eyewitness said the assailants later fled the scene, while the incident caused panic among traders and residents around the palace.
Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, who confirmed the incident, said the governor’s security personnel repelled the assailants.
“They are hoodlums, and the governor’s security repelled them. They attacked the governor’s convoy at Ataoja’s palace. No casualty,” Alimi said.
