Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has refuted claims of alleged “impeachment plot” against his deputy, Olayide Adelami.

Aiyedatiwa stressed that he’s a prophet and so would not be involved in such a plot.
Political discussions across Ondo State have recently been dominated by speculation suggesting a rift between the governor and his deputy.
The rumour, which first surfaced last year, alleged that certain members of the state House of Assembly were making moves to impeach the deputy governor.
The supposed impeachment agenda was reportedly tied to an internal ‘power tussle’ among political interests in Owo Local Government, the deputy governor’s hometown, as well as tensions involving the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Isaacs Omowunmi, who is said to be an ally of the governor.
But speaking during the inauguration of the newly completed Ayegunle-Iwaro Oka road in Akoko South-West Local Government Area on Friday, Aiyedatiwa dismissed suggestions of discord between him and Adelami.
He maintained that the alleged impeachment scheme exists only in the imagination of political opponents bent on causing disharmony within his administration.
Aiyedatiwa said, “Mr Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami, I acknowledge your presence here. Thank you for holding forth for me yesterday when I had to travel.
“Worthy, amiable Deputy Governor. Some people are spreading one fake video. Those people want to hear words.
“They claimed they want to remove the deputy governor. For where? Where they did they want to remove him (deputy governor) from? Don’t answer them please; they are only looking for relevance. That can’t happen because I’m also a Prophet of God.”
