The crisis rocking the All Progressive Congress in Ogun State yesterday took another dimension as a governorship aspirant of the party, Hon. Abayomi Hunye, unveiled Otunba Abdulfalil Abayomi Odunowo as his running mate, insisting that he remains in the governorship race.
He equally challenged the indigeneity of the party’s consensus candidate Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called Yayi, calling out the federal lawmaker to show him his original family house in Yewa (Ogun West).

Hunye, who made the disclosure in Abeokuta, the state capital, yesterday, said he decided to unveil his deputy to avoid being caught unprepared should the court declare him the rightful governorship candidate of the party.
Recall that the aspirant had gone to court to challenge the results of the party’s primary, where he reportedly scored zero vote against the party’s consensus candidate and the incumbent senator representing Ogun w
West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.
According to him, he believes that he would emerge victorious after the court judgement, stressing that he had not withdrawn from the race as speculated from different quarters, adding that his conscience could not be bought with money.
Hunye insisted that Adeola is not an indigene of Ogun West as he claimed, calling on the citizens of the state to go to Tube in Ipokia Local Council to ask about his family house and to Ijebu-Ode to ask about the family house of his running mate, Odunowo, to ascertain their roots.
“I want to tell you there has been a lot rumors here and there. some are saying they have made an appeal to me and I have step down, some days it has been settled. I want to tell everybody in Ogun State that is a big lie, we are still in the race, I am in court.”
“We are challenging that result of the election that announced Olamilekan known as yayi as that candidate of APC and next Thursday we will also be in court and I am believing God that at the end of the day victory is ours”
“We are here to unveil my deputy governor, as at today now all the Assembly candidates has been picked and they have also picked their deputy governor. If I refused to pick my deputy governor I will be compelled to adopt theirs so if they pick somebody’s for me, I will we work together, which is more dangerous than even contesting that all.
“There is nothing they can use to beg, I as a person I am not convinced that Senator Olamilekan Adeola is from Yewa unless there are prove to me. I am from Tube, Yomi Odunowo is from Ijebu-Ode, his mother is mama cash. I am from Tube, you don’t get to Tube and start asking for me, when you get to Tube you see my Aunty, you will see my uncle, you will see my nephew, you can see my root there, where is his family(Adeola’s)house?”
“So, if Yewa were to be the governor we must ensure that he is a true indegene, original Yewa man that knows our challenges and problems so that we will be able to solve them and I want to tell you I am the son of the soil.” he added.
