The campaigns of the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has been boosted by the donations of no fewer than 125 buses and other vehicles by his supporters and associates towards ensuring his victory in next year’s gubernatorial election in the state.
Yayi, who disclosed this development in a statement on Monday, expressed delight that the buses and vehicles were donated by the individuals, groups and corporate organisations to support his political campaigns and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election in Ogun.
Expressing appreciation to the donors, Adeola listed in the statement the 22 individuals, groups and businesses that voluntarily offered the buses, an ambulance, pickup vehicle and other forms of mobility support.
According to the APC flagbearer, the donated buses and vehicles are being used to strengthen his campaign activities and grassroots outreach across the state.
The statement listed Mr Akintunde Armstrong as donating 26 buses, while Alhaji IBD Dende gave seven buses and an ambulance.
While Zacobass Oil & Gas and Stonebridge Engineering Services Ltd donated 10 buses each, Elele Ijebu, Amazon Luxury Apartments and Mr Osho also gave 10 buses apiece.
The statement listed other donors to include Citiside Brother, with two buses; Sanusi Friend, four; Olafem Citi Friend, one; Onaolapo Brother, three; OJ, two; Sodiq Badru, one; Kenny Odeda, one; and Kabiyesi Segun Ojolowo, four vehicles.
Similarly, MTN Odeda, Adunbarin YAYI Diaspora and Rashidat Texas donated one vehicle each, while Mr Osho donated 10 buses. Elele Mowe contributed two vehicles, Ola Odogbolu donated a Korope mini-bus, Nafiu Abimbola and a friend provided a pickup, while Polanco donated 10 buses.
Senator Adeola disclosed that the donated buses and vehicles had already been deployed to support mobilisation and outreach activities involving different groups and communities across Ogun State.
The APC governorship hopeful further expressed appreciation to the donors, describing their contributions as personal sacrifices and a demonstration of confidence in his political aspirations.
“Every vehicle donated represents sacrifice, commitment and, above all, confidence in our collective aspiration and the future we seek to build together,” he said.
Senator Adeola Yayi also acknowledged other supporters who had earlier provided campaign materials, logistical assistance, expertise, networks and other resources.
According to him, the donations have placed an added responsibility on him and his team to justify the confidence reposed in him by his supporters.
The APC governorship candidate praised the various donors for their generosity and magnanimity, describing their support as capable of strengthening his aspiration towards moving Ogun State forward.
