Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, on Wednesday, reduced its petrol price following Dangote Refinery’s announcement of a gantry price cut.
NNPCL filling stations in Abuja and environs reduced their fuel pump price to N1,165 per liter on Wednesday, down from N1,260 per liter on Tuesday.
This represents a reduction of N95 per liter by the state-owned oil firm.
Already, the adjusted pump price has been implemented at NNPCL filling station outlets in Jabi, Lifecamp, Wuse Zone 5, and Zone 4, as of the time of filing this report, while Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) is sold at N1,535 per liter.
Also, other filling stations such as NIPCO, AP, and AA Rano now sell PMS at N1,195, N1,200, and N1,223 per liter, respectively.
A manager at MRS filling station, who pleaded not to be identified, said the retail outlet would adjust its petrol price by N100 to N1,167 per liter from Thursday.
Earlier, filling stations slashed fuel prices by N20 per liter after Dangote Refinery lowered its gantry price to N1,075 amid a drop in crude oil prices.
As of the time of filing this report, Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude stood at $91.76 and $86.86 per barrel, respectively.
