As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria says the broadcast industry remains steadfast in driving the nation’s economic and democratic advancement despite severe operational challenges.
BON said the industry is grappling with high energy costs and heavy dependence on imported equipment sourced with foreign exchange.

The organisation stated this in a statement by its Executive Secretary, Dr.Yemisi Bamgbose, made available to newsmen on Thursday.
It reiterated its commitment to promoting unity, equity, justice, and accountability, while continuing to provide accurate and balanced information Nigerians can trust amid rising fake news and disinformation.
BON also commended the Federal Government and security agencies — the Military, Police, DSS and others — for their sustained efforts and sacrifices to restore security across the country.
