The Niger State Command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps has through its Anti-Vandal unit intercepted a truck fully loaded with water pipes along Lambata, Minna road.

The State Commandant of the corps, Adamu Abdullahi Kambra, disclosed this in a press statement made available to Daily Newshub through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Abubaakar Mohammed Rabiu, in Minna.
According to the CDPRO, the Anti-vandal team was on patrol to Lambata in Gurara Local Government Area of the state on 4th October, 2024 when they came across the truck travelling from Zamfara State to Niger State with the suspected used water pipes. The truck with the registration number FTA 941 XB,
was intercepted by the team.
Preminiary investigation conducted by the team on truck’s occupants revealed that it lacked necessary documents.
The statement added that for such a vehicle to be fully loaded with such critical infrastructure all the way from Zamfara State without necessary documents was suspicious, hence the need for interception by the men and officers of the Anti Vandal units of the command.
Commandant Kambra in his statement however explained that such act undermined government efforts to provide social amenities with a view of improving the livelihood of the people.
He further said that vandalism of such critical infrastructure was a significant economic and development sabotage which needed to be stopped.
He assured that the command under his watch would conduct thorough investigation with a view to apprehending all those responsible for such act of vandalism and bring them to justice by prosecuting the perpetrators, especially as the command is fully determined to work as a team by collaborating with other sister security agencies in the state to fight against any act of vandalism and other related crimes in the society.
The state Commandant of the corps, therefore, urged members of the public to report suspicious activities as well as helping the command with useful information regarding vandalization of national critical assets and infrastructure for prompt action.
Commandant Kambra while expressing his leadership gratitude to the Commandant General of the corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for his continued support to the Command, also commended the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago for his leadership skills and commitment to ensuring watertight security in the state and prayed God to protect him to enable him to continue the good work he’s doing for the people of the state.
