The Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Health, Prof Simidele Odimayo, has extended New Year greetings to residents of the state, with a special message to the people of the Ondo South Senatorial District, calling for unity, hope and renewed commitment to the progress of the state.

Odimayo, in a statement issued on Friday, said the New Year presented another opportunity for the people of Ondo State to strengthen their collective resolve towards development, peace and prosperity.
He urged residents to remain law-abiding, optimistic and supportive of government policies aimed at improving their welfare.
He described the people of the southern senatorial district as resilient and hardworking, noting that their contributions to the socio-economic growth of the state remained invaluable.
According to him, the district continues to play a strategic role in the overall development vision of the Aiyedatiwa administration.
“I call on residents across the state to continue to support Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as a sustained public backing is critical to the successful delivery of democratic dividends,” he propped.
Prof. Odimayo lauded the governor’s “giant strides” in the southern senatorial district, citing key ongoing and proposed projects targeted at driving industrialisation and improving living standards.
These include the Ondo Deep Seaport project, the proposed $2.6 billion fertiliser and petrochemical plant, and the recent approval of a College of Nursing Science in Ilaje, which will enhance healthcare training and capacity in the district.
He particilarlarly recalled that late last year, Governor Aiyedatiwa signed a $50bn investment agreement with a consortium of international firms under the Sunshine Infrastructure Joint Venture to establish a 500,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) oil refinery, as well as a free trade zone.
“The consortium has secured expressions of interest for up to NGN71.8 trillion ($50bn) in funding to develop a refinery and build out the 1,471-hectare Sunshine Free Trade Zone in Ilaje, Ondo State.”
He also cited fast-paced interventions in road connectivity, healthcare infrastructure, and human capital development across the coastal and riverine communities.
Prof. Odimayo noted that the industrial and educational projects, when fully implemented, would create massive employment opportunities, boost internally generated revenue and position Ondo State as a major economic hub in the South-West.
He assured residents that the Aiyedatiwa administration remained committed to people-centred governance, particularly in the areas of healthcare delivery, infrastructure development and economic empowerment.
Odimayo said, “The governor cannot achieve these goals alone. The continued support, cooperation and understanding of the people are essential for the administration to deliver fully, on its mandate.”
He urged citizens to remain steadfast in their support for the government, expressing confidence that the New Year would usher in greater development and improved welfare for all residents of Ondo State.
