More investment opportunities open for US, Nigeria as Consul-General parleys US-Nigeria Business Council  in Atlanta

In a bid to strengthen trade and investment ecosystem between the United States of America (USA) and Nigeria, there have been bilateral talks involving the Nigerian Consul-General in Atlanta, Amb. Auwalu Jega Namadina and the U.S – Nigeria Business Council Delegation.

During the parley, which took place on Tuesday July 16, 2024, far reaching decisions were reached with respect to enhancing trade and investment opportunities between both countries, underscoring mutual commitment to foster economic growth and strengthen bilateral relations.

Led by prominent business leaders and representatives from the US-Nigeria Business Council, including Prof. Juliet Elu from Morehouse College, Mr. Emilio DeJesus, Investor from Invectus Investments, Ms. Jonnell Mimefee, investor from Solar Tyme USA, Mr. Kayode Aladesuyi, Founder and CEO of MyAi Robotics and Mr. Brandon Smith, Vice President of International Trade of the U.S.-Nigeria Business Council, the delegation engaged in constructive dialogues with Amb. Auwalu Namadina, highlighting the importance of enhancing
commercial partnerships and exploring avenues for collaboration across various sectors.

The discussions held during the meeting reflected a shared vision of harnessing the synergies between the US and Nigeria to create a conducive environment for increased trade flows, investment inflows, and mutual
prosperity.

Both parties reiterated their dedication to fostering a conducive business environment that encourages innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development.

The delegation engaged in fruitful discussions aimed at identifying key sectors for collaboration, including technology, agriculture, and renewable energy.

The meeting highlighted the vast potential for trade expansion and investment in Nigeria, which is one of Africa’s largest economies.

In a show of solidarity and commitment to the Nigerian Consulate in Atlanta, the delegation pledged unwavering support for the consulate’s initiatives aimed at promoting cultural exchange, facilitating consular services, and enhancing diplomatic relations between the United States and Nigeria.

“We are committed to supporting initiatives that will facilitate trade and investment, create jobs, and drive economic development in Nigeria,” stated Engr. Titus Olowokere, the leader of the USNBC delegation.

The Consul-General expressed gratitude for USNBC’s commitment and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving mutual economic goals.

Also, the Consul for Trade and Investment, Mrs. Miriam Udezor, pointed out that “We are eager to work closely with the USNBC to create an enabling environment for business and investment.”

As both nations look towards a prosperous future, the USNBC and the Nigerian consulate in Atlanta remain committed to nurturing a strong and sustainable economic relationship.

As the meeting concluded, the US-Nigeria Business Council delegation expressed optimism about the prospects of deepening collaboration with the Nigerian Consulate in Atlanta and reaffirmed their commitment to working together towards achieving shared goals of advancing trade and investment relations between the two nations.

The event highlighted the collaborative efforts between the US-Nigeria Business Council and the Nigerian Consulate in Atlanta to enhance economic cooperation and promote mutual growth and development.
