Fresh from a momentous celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of Methodist High School(MHS), Okitipupa, Ondo State, the citadel of learning is set for a new lease of life following the emergence of a new eight-member Executive under the leadership of renowned educational professional, Mr Siji Adesanoye as National President.

Under the aegies of Methodist High School, Okitipupa Old Students Association, the new leadership has called on members of the alumni body to close ranks, embrace unity and work collectively towards repositioning the College for greater impact.

In his acceptance speech following the conclusion of the Association’s election, Mr Adesanoye declared that the period of contest was over and urged all members to come together as one united family in order to confront the challenges hindering the progress of the body.

“Competition is over. Let us come together as a united front to fight every form of weakness that will not allow the sweet, melodious tune of our blowing trumpet,” he said.

He stressed that no single individual possesses all the knowledge required to transform the Association and by extension, the School, noting that teamwork, collaboration and shared commitment would be crucial to achieving faster and more meaningful progress.

According to him, the future of the Association depends on the willingness of members to move beyond past disagreements, apathy and lukewarm attitudes to service, while recommitting themselves to the common vision of rebuilding the association into a stronger and more vibrant institution.

Addressing members of the body, the new National President urged the alumni community to reflect deeply on the reasons behind what he called the dwindling commitment of members to their collective responsibilities.

He warned that unless members deliberately reject disunity, indifference and non-chalance to the call to serve, the Association’s aspirations could remain stalled for years.

Reaffirming his commitment to the manifesto that earned him the mandate of members, Adesanoye outlined key priority areas his administration would focus on.

Top on his agenda is a review of the Association’s constitution to address noticeable gaps and accommodate fundamental issues requiring urgent attention.

He also pledged to ensure the continuity and completion of the ongoing Hall construction project, improve the communication system within the alumni body, and revamp the Lagos-Ogun axis chapter to make it more active and effective.

In addition, he promised prompt attention to students’ welfare, especially in the areas of establishing an e-library and ensuring a functional computer laboratory for current students of Methodist High School, Okitipupa.

“These areas and other teething challenges, I pledge to concentrate my energy and attention on,” he assured members.

The new president expressed profound gratitude to members of the alumni association for the trust, confidence and support reposed in him, describing his emergence as National President as a call to higher responsibility and service.

He pledged full commitment, dedication and loyalty to the ideals of the global alumni body, promising to work tirelessly for the growth of the body and the advancement of the alma mater.

His speech, rich in calls for unity, institutional reforms and renewed service, signals what many members see as the beginning of a fresh chapter for the Methodist High School, Okitipupa Old Students Association.

Other members of the new Exco are; Names of the new Exco; Mr Ajimatokin Solomon – Vice President, Mr Ahiwe Daniel – General Secretary,Mrs Aduwo Olubukola – PRO, and Mr Olarinde Olatunji – Assistant PRO.

Others include, Dr (Mrs) Logo – Treasurer, Mr Saanumi Olabode – Financial Secretary, Mrs Oyeniyi Muibat – Ass Financial Secretary.
