Dateline: 9 May 2026 Abeokuta, Nigeria

The Council of Legal Education has lauded Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW) of Crescent University, Abeokuta in the outcome of its last accreditation visit to the institution, describing facilities and human resources as impressive.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila broke the news to the university community at the weekend after receiving a confirmation letter from the Council that Crescent University law quota had been increased to one hundred and twenty (120).

A letter dated 24th April 2026, marked NSL/3367/S.1/VOL.1 and signed by the Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration, Ms Aderonke Osho confirmed that Crescent University quota to the Nigerian Law School has now been increased from 70 to 120.

By interpretation, Crescent University now has capacity to admit a total of one hundred and twenty students from the 2026/2027 academic session into the Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW).

The last accreditation visit of the Council to Crescent University was led by the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr Olugbemisola Titilayo Odusote in February 23, 2026 to assess the quality, as well as compliance, of staffing, admission intake, library and other facilities.

The exit report revealed that the visitation team commended all facilities met on ground. The lecturers’ offices, law library, e-library, staff common room, students’ common room, auditorium, law clinic, and faculty vehicles were described as commendable and impressive.

It is recalled that some graduates of BACOLAW who graduated with first class from Crescent University in recent past also replicated the feat with another first class at their bar finals in the Nigerian Law School. These include Qudus Akintola, Zainab Akinde and Haishat Oladunni Majolagbe.

Students of BACOLAW have also won numerous national and international awards, competitions and recommendations
including the 31st Vis-Moot Court Arbitration Competition held at the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, France in 2024 as well as International Bar Association/International Criminal Court Moot 2025 competition organized by the Grotious Centre for International Legal Studies, Leiden University Campus, The Hague, where Team Crescent made Africa proud with their sterling performance.

The vice chancellor also recalled that another final-year student of BACOLAW, Mujeebat Idris, won the seventh edition of the Alao Adavise National Essay Competition on privacy and data protection in 2025.

Her essay, titled “The Invisible Audience: Can Online Platforms Safeguard Youth Privacy?”, was selected as the best among over 300 entries submitted nationwide.
