Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has said Nigerian player Ademola Lookman is slowly getting used to living and playing at the club.
Lookman moved to the Rojiblancos permanently during the winter transfer window, coming from Atalanta, after having a tough beginning to the season in Italy.
The Nigerian player has done well in Spain, scoring two goals and providing two assists in his first three games in all competitions.
Before the match against Rayo Vallecano, Simeone said that Lookman, along with the other new players Rodrigo Mendoza and Obed Vargas, is getting used to his new team and surroundings.
“Obed Vargas is trying to adjust to the team, just like Rodrigo Mendoza and Lookman; all three are going through the same experience,” as reported by Estadio Deportivo.
Simeone said he hopes the three players will keep putting in their best effort during training to get more playing time on the field.
“They have come to help the team, and the hope is that gradually they will put in their best effort during training so that they can get more chances to play in the matches.”
Lookman, who has not scored any goals in La Liga yet, is looking forward to staying in good form and finally scoring against Rayo Vallecano.
