Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano has urged the Department of State Services to investigate a coordinated online harassment campaign against its leaders.
The group, in a petition dated April 9, 2026, stated that its top members are being targeted with cyberbullying and false allegations intended to damage their reputations and weaken the movement.
The petition named some of those affected, including Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo and Muhammad Samir Hanga, alongside other loyal members.
The group alleged that many of the attacks are being carried out on social media, particularly Facebook, where posts are said to be aimed at discrediting them.
The movement also levelled serious allegations against certain individuals it claims are linked to the Kano State Government.
It specifically mentioned the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, as well as other unnamed officials.
The petition accused these individuals of using social media to conduct what the group described as a campaign of character assassination.
