Gunmen, on Saturday, abducted a judge of the Bayelsa State High Court, Justice E.G. Umokoro, in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Justice Umokoro was said to have been kidnapped at about 7pm in front of a popular eatery in Ekeki area along the Chief Melford Okilo Expressway.
The judge’s abduction has however heightened fears and tension in the state against the backdrop of recent armed robbery incidents and violent clashes between cult groups which have claimed several lives in different parts of the state.
Police in the state have yet to issue any statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
