The immediate past Inspector General of Police, IGP (Rtd.) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, fspsp, has described leadership as a sacred responsibility that requires patience, wisdom, sincerity, dedication, and selfless service to humanity.

The respected elder statesman made this known when Hon. Olusegun Olugbemileke Amore, an aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly in the 2027 elections, paid him a courtesy and consultative visit as part of his ongoing political engagements and consultations.

Former IGP Egbetokun, who is also an uncle to Hon. Amore, expressed delight over the aspiration and commended him for his courage, ambition, and willingness to serve the people.

He advised Hon. Amore to remain steadfast, focused, humble, and committed to the principles of integrity, discipline, accountability, and service to the people.

IGP Egbetokun (Rtd.) further urged him to maintain close relationships with people at the grassroots, uphold the values of transparency and accountability, and always place the collective interest of the people above personal considerations.

The retired police boss thereafter offered prayers and blessings for Hon. Amore, praying for divine wisdom, strength, guidance, protection, and success in his political journey and future endeavors.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Olusegun Olugbemileke Amore stated that his decision to aspire for legislative office was borne out of his unwavering commitment to grassroots development, quality representation, youth empowerment, and his desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth and progress of Ogun State.

He emphasized his dedication to promoting good governance, effective legislation, and people-oriented leadership in line with the progressive ideals and vision of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hon. Amore also appreciated the former Inspector General of Police for the fatherly advice, encouragement, prayers, and support received during the visit, while assuring him of his readiness to uphold the values of exemplary leadership and impactful representation.

The meeting, which was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, formed part of Hon. Amore’s ongoing consultations and engagements with respected leaders, stakeholders, and eminent personalities ahead of forthcoming political activities in Ogun State.

The visit also provided an opportunity for Hon. Amore to formally intimate the highly respected former police boss of his aspiration to contest for a seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Observers noted that the consultative visit further reflects Hon. Olusegun Olugbemileke Amore’s commitment to seeking guidance, support, and prayers from notable leaders and stakeholders across different sectors as he continues his journey towards serving the people of Ogun State at the State House of Assembly.
