There were explosions on Wednesday following a major fire outbreak at the Dangote Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
However, the Dangote group had yet to react to the fire outbreak as of the time of filing this report.
Recently, the owner, multi-billionaire businessman and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote had revealed how he fought and defeated a strong group of local and foreign mafias before establishing the $19 billion refinery.
Dangote claimed that the mafias in the oil sector, who are stronger than drug lords tried every means to sabotage the refinery project.
Dangote, who spoke at Afreximbank annual meeting and AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum in Bahamas, had said he never anticipated that the resistance would be so harsh.
Recently, the Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, Ifeanyi Ubah, said Dangote’s Refinery would force down the pump price of petroleum products in Nigeria.
