…felicitates all Muslim faithful in Nigeria

As Muslims all over the world celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival, the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Lawal Adamu Usman has assured his constituents that he will continue to use their mandate in the 10th National Assembly to implement beneficial programmes and projects for the common good of all the people in the seven local government areas constituting the senatorial district and beyond.

Senator Usman also assured that he’ll not relent in his efforts to increase the access of all the people of Kaduna Central Senatorial District to the basic necessities of life and the real dividends of democracy.

Senator Usman stated these in a statement on Friday in Kaduna to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival.

While congratulating Muslims in his constituency, Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole, and praying that Allah accepts their supplications and acts of obedience, Senator Usman, who also doubles as the Senate Committee Chairman on Education (Basic and Secondary) and Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Financial Matters, noted that offering prayers for the nation’s leaders at this time had become a necessary sacrifice given the enormity of the daunting challenges the nation is grappling with.

The lawmaker, popularly called Senator LA by his teeming supporters, however, charged his constituents to continue to support him in his efforts to better their lot and take Kaduna Central to greater heights through the delivery of the real dividends of democracy.

He assured them that he’ll continue to prioritize their welfare and well-being and will not relent in his efforts and noble endeavours to continue to bring unprecedented socio-economic and infrastructural developments to all facets of their lives and throughout Kaduna Central Senatorial District.

Highlighting his achievements in his two years as the lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, Senator Usman listed the construction of 100 smart primary school buildings fully equipped with modern learning facilities, provision of hundreds of millions of Naira worth of scholarships, over N500million to empower youths and women across his constituency, provision of over 200 electricity transformers to light up homes across the seven local government areas, boreholes for potable water, solar lights, entrepreneurial training and provision of over 30,000 tons of fertilizers for farmers, sponsorship of hundreds of students for WAEC and UTME (JAMB) examinations, N500,000 business startup capital for each of 500 beneficiaries, payment of registration fees for over 1000 tertiary institution students, training for over 100 women in soap making, training for over 200 beneficiaries in fish farming as well as other skills acquisition training for over 1000 other beneficiaries as some of democracy dividends he had already delivered to his constituents.

He added that he had also disbursed the sum of between N100,000 and N150,000 bursary allowances to over 200 students in the Humanities and Sciences, respectively, across his Senatorial District, from the N500 million set aside for settling tuition fees for hundreds of students of tertiary institutions in his constituency. He said over 1000 students drawn from across the Senatorial District have so far been awarded scholarships.

To facilitate the easy transportation of persons, goods and farm produce throughout Kaduna Central Senatorial District, the lawmaker said finishing touches are currently being put to his plan to construct over 20,000 kilometres of roads traversing the seven local government areas in the district.

Senator LA also disclosed that he had sponsored four very crucial motions and four bills, which are now in their third reading stages and about to be passed into law by the Senate.

He added that he had also continued to sponsor people to perform the lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia to offer prayers for the peace, progress, and unity of Nigeria.

“My pledge is to continue to work assiduously to make life better for all the good people of Kaduna Central Senatorial District and practically alleviate the suffering of
the less privileged, too,” he added.

The lawmaker also enjoined all Muslim faithful in his constituency, Kaduna State and all over Nigeria to use the occasion of the festival to pray for continuous peace, end to the perennial insecurity, hardship and economic challenges confronting the people.

Eid-el-Kabir festival is celebrated yearly by Muslims all over the world to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his only son in obedience to a command from Allah. The festival is therefore observed by Muslims with Eid prayers, charity, social gatherings, festivities, sumptuous meals, gifts and a lot more.

Senator LA further admonished Muslims to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for the country and its leaders at all levels for Allah to grant them the knowledge, wisdom and the will to make the necessary sacrifices needed for effectively addressing the various challenges confronting all citizens.

He urged the Muslim faithful to reflect on the essence of the Eid-el-Kabir festival, stressing that sacrifice and duty are key ingredients for developing a society.

He added that it requires collective purposes, will, action and sacrifice to effect great and impactful changes.

He charged Muslims to learn some lessons from Prophet Ibrahim’s exemplary life by avoiding any act that could constitute a threat to the peace, unity and stability of the country.

He stressed that Nigeria and her leaders required all the prayers of the faithful to enable them to succeed in tackling the various challenges confronting the people and the country.

Senator Usman said, “Once again, on this auspicious occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir festival, I want to enjoin the Muslim ummah to use this period to also pray for an end to insecurity, hardship and economic challenges in our various communities and the country as a whole.

“I also enjoin all Muslims to use this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival period to pray for Nigeria and her leaders at all levels for Allah to grant them the knowledge, wisdom, selflessness and the willpower to make the necessary sacrifices to enable them to address all these challenges confronting the country.”

He stressed that Muslims should continue to reflect and exhibit in their relationships and daily dealings with other Nigerians the various virtues such as kindness, honesty, tolerance, forgiveness and the willingness to sacrifice for the good of their communities and country.

Senator Usman further advised Muslims to continue on the path of spirituality and peaceful co-existence with other Nigerians by emulating the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), who lived peacefully with the adherents of other religions in Madina.

He charged them to eschew conducts that could instigate communal and religious conflicts.

He said Muslim faithful should not hesitate to promote national peace and cohesion to further concretise a harmonious religious atmosphere and national unity.

Senator Usman added, “As Muslims, we must continue to cherish that spirit of sacrifice, togetherness and gratitude while reflecting on Almighty Allah’s blessings as we transmit and exhibit the lessons of compassion and empathy in our daily dealings with others.

“I pray that the spirit of this season inspires us all, as Muslims, to shower kindness, lift up the needy and strengthen that bond of togetherness and brotherhood in all our communities. I wish my good people of Kaduna Central Senatorial District, the entire people of Kaduna State and all Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration.”

Senator Usman also charged all Nigerians to eschew the selfish promotion of personal, group, sectarian and other interests, and rather promote sacrifice for harmony and tolerance in their relationships with other citizens at all times.

“On this joyous occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, I extend warm greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah in Kaduna Central, all over Nigeria and across the world,” the lawmaker added.
