The Proprietor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Prince Ma’ruf Adesegun Ajibola SAN has been inducted into the prestigious Abeokuta Polo Club.

He was decorated alongside nine other new members by HRM Oba Aremu Gbadebo,the Alake of Egbaland, during the first anniversary and members’ induction ceremony held at Park Inn By Radisson, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In his address, the Founder and President of the Club, Dr Sheriff Adams Abdulrahman said “over the past year, we have taken bold steps towards building a world class polo club founded on excellence, integrity, friendship and equestrian heritage”, noting that his team’s vision had grown into a vibrant community of individuals committed to promoting the sport of polo thereby contributing to the socio-ecomomic development of Ogun State.

Abdulrahman stressed that the event was not only to celebrate the first anniversary but also to induct Pioneer members “whose confidence, commitment, and support have laid the foundation for a lasting legacy.

He concluded that apart from having trained a total of one hundred and twenty beneficiaries in digital technology and artificial intelligence, the club would also contribute economically through employment of youth.

In his remarks, HRM Oba Saka Matemilola, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, unveiled that Abeokuta Polo Club would bring prestige not only to the city of Abeokuta but to Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.

He said the club would make a huge difference to the ambience of the city of Abeokuta adding that “it is a premium club that will build standards “.

Special recognition awards were also conferred on the wife of former Ogun Governor, Yeye Moremi Oodua, Mrs Olufunso Amosun and Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Oluwasesan Fagbayi, as royal fathers, HRM, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, HRM Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Obalanlege, Olota of Ota and the Orunto of Owu kingdom, Chief Abiodun Lasile prominently featured at the event.

On the entourage of Prince Adesegun Ajibola SAN are Crescent University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, his deputy, Prof. Rasaki Kareem, Registrar, Prince Zakariyya Ajibola, the Bursar, Alhaji Gbadebo Ogunmefun FCA and the Principal Assistant Registrar in charge of public relations, Mr Idris Katib.
