Proprietor of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Prince Adesegun Ajibola, SAN has described the sudden exit of Oba Ogunleye as the loss of a worthy and exemplary “Ambassador” of Crescent University.
In statement by the Public Relations Office, Barrister Ajibola highlighted the sterling qualities and achievements of the late royal father in various sectors of life, including his steadfast commitment to the growth of Crescent University from its fledgling years.
Prince Segun Ajibola also acknowledged Oba Ogunleye’s closeness to the departed Founder of Crescent University, H.E Prince Bola Ajibola from his days as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Oba Ogunleye, who joined Bola Ajibola College of Law, Crescent University, Abeokuta, at age 70, graduated with the first set with LL.B of the college after which he proceeded with his Master’s and PhD degrees in law from another university.
Barrister Ajibola recalled that in January this year, Oba Ogunleye, in a speech, inspired the newly admitted students of Crescent University, Abeokuta, with his journey of academic and professional excellence.
He added that even after Baba Ajibola’s exit, Oba Ogunleye continued to make himself available for assignments and other forms of support for the Ajibola family.
Ajibola further extolled Oba Ogunleye’s role model virtues worthy of emulation by teeming millions of youths in Owu, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.
He stated that Oba Ogunleye served humanity well in journalism, public relations practice, traditional rulership and law scholarship with his PhD convocation just around the corner in July.
He prayed that Almighty Allah should give the Ogunleye family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss occasioned by the sudden demise of this highly celebrated illustrious patriarch of the family and a vibrant pillar in the Owu community worldwide.
