… reaches out to denominations in seven LGAs
Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, has doled out the sum of N75million to Christian denominations in his Senatorial District to celebrate the Christmas.
Senator Usman, fondly called Senator LA by his constituents and teeming supporters in Kaduna Central Senatorial District, donated the money to the various Christian denominations under the aegis of the Christian Association of Nigeria in seven local government areas, including Chikun, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Kajuru and Igabi.
The beneficiaries were drawn from all Christian groups and associations across the Kaduna Central Senatorial District.
Senator Usman in his speech at the event on Tuesday restated his resolve to continue to provide good and qualitative representation to all the good people of his constituency, without discrimination or any iota of religious sentiment.
According to the lawmaker, the gesture was to assist his brothers and sisters in Christ to enable them to celebrate Christmas in a happy mood inspite of the prevailing economic hardship confronting all Nigerians.
“This is part of our duty to offer assistance to our constituents during festive times,” he said.
Senator LA enjoined all Christians and Muslims to shun all sentiments, embrace one another and see themselves as united and one people focused on living decently.
He said the era of religious division and rancour has gone as the two faiths – Islam and Christianity have a lot of similarities with slight differences.
Senator LA also charged the faithful of the two Abrahamic religions to shun all divisive tendencies and rather cooperate to actualise the enormous sociocultural, political and economic values that identify all Nigerians as one people and one nation.
Party chieftains who attended the event included PDP Zonal Secretary, Hon. Hussaini Garkuwa; State Secretary, Hon. Sa’idu Adamu, State PRO Maria Dogo; and former Secretary, Ibrahim Wusono, among others.
