TTottenham secured its first win of the season with a 5-1 victory over Charlton in the second round of the Carabao Cup at their London stadium.
Two first half and three second half goals ensured Roberto De Zerbi’s expensive side forgot their poor performance in the league’s season opener, with goals from Mikey Moore, Dominic Solanke, Kevin Danso, new signing Savio, and Ben Davies.

A rasping drive into the top corner from 19-year-old Moore opened the scoring before Solanke slotted home to double the lead going into the break.
Danso headed home a Mateus Fernandes free-kick for three, Savio dribbled past a couple of defenders before finding the net from the edge of the area, while Ben Davies completed the rout. Lloyd Jones scored Charlton’s consolation in the 87th minute.
The reward for their effort is a trip to Liverpool for the third round fixture.
Everton also won big, Thierno Barry’s hattrick led the Toffees to a 4-0 win at Preston North End, with Brennan Johnson also on the scoresheet as David Moyes’ men advanced into the next round.
They will also be joined by Newcastle United who came from a goal down to seal a 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion at St. James’ Park, while Bradford City produced the shock of the round with 4-2 win over Burnley on penalties. The League One side had held the Championship team to a goalless draw before winning the penalty lottery.
