Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, on Sunday, mocked former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, following the outcome of Saturday’s by-election in the state.
According to Soludo, results of Saturday’s by-elections in the state show that the Labour Party and the African Democratic Congress, ADC, are “dead” and “non-existent” in Anambra.
The Governor spoke during an event in the Nanka area of the state to celebrate the victory of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the by-elections.
Soludo mocked Obi, who supported ADC candidates in the polls, insisting the party does not exist in Anambra.
“ADC does not exist in Anambra. We showed it yesterday, Saturday. Labour Party is dead,” Soludo said.
He said the ADC opposition coalition had sought to use the by-election in Anambra to test its popularity, but “the people spoke overwhelmingly with over 75%,” adding, “APGA is our movement.”
Recall that Obi, a member of the Labour Party, had aligned with the ADC coalition seeking to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.
