A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ayekooto Akindele, says the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Bukar Dalori, will replace Abdullahi Ganduje.
On Friday, Ganduje resigned his position as the APC National Chairman.
Although the circumstances surrounding his resignation remain unclear, it was gathered that Ganduje resigned on health grounds.
As Nigerians await an official announcement from the party’s National Working Committee regarding Ganduje’s resignation and the choice of replacement, Ayekooto stated that Dalori will assume the office in the meantime.
The APC chieftain, n a post on his official Facebook page, wrote, “Acting National Chairman of the APC, Ali Bukar Dalori.”
Earlier, Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed that one of the national vice chairmen of the party would succeed Ganduje.
Ahmed said Ganduje’s successor will function in an acting capacity pending the election of a substantive chairman at the national convention scheduled for December 2025.
