The Lion of Bourdillon Waves, LBW, a foremost sociopolitical group, has commended the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, BTO, for his extraordinary people-focused interventions across Ondo State.
In a statement signed by its _National Convener, Engr. Daniel Oke_, LBW said BTO’s ward-by-ward projects covering over 54 communities in Akure South, Akure North and Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo are loud because they are beyond expectations.
According to the group, the comprehensive list which cuts across power, water, security, roads, empowerments and education is a rare display of leadership that remembers home.
From energizing transformers in Abusoro, Olufoam, Alagbado and Akakroki Estate, to lighting up 16 communities including Afunbiowo, Abidunwape, Araromi, Ifesowapo, New Aule, Odanikin, Sunshine Estate, Ijoka, Ishomem-Orita, Apatapiti and Eyin Ala with solar streetlights; from line drainages, box culverts and road filling in Ijoka, Igoba, Elegbowo and Canaanland, to canal excavation and concrete roads in Celestial and St. Louis communities; from solar-powered boreholes in Ode-Oghe, Ayedege, Ipinsa, Aladodo, RATTAWU Ijagba and Rockview Estate, to 12KVA and 22KVA solar inverter systems for NTA and NIMC communities, the impact is undeniable.
Recently, the group issued a publication commending the minister for the donation of solar power systems to Positive 102.5FM Akure, as part of the giant strides of the minister in supporting critical public institutions in the state.
The group also commended the _Ondo Community Connect Initiative Project Coordinator, Mrs. Iretidola Akinrowo Ojekhoa_, for her diligent coordination and effective delivery of the people-oriented projects on ground. While the initiative is not relenting, with the Needs Assessment Team still working round the clock, visiting more communities to identify their needs and to ensure that they are provided with their needs.
LBW noted that school bags distributed to pupils of Oyemekun, CAC United High School, Isolo, Omoniyi, Reuben Fasoranti Caring Heart Mega Primary School and St. Anthony’s RCM, among other interventions, shows amenities and infrastructure provision with a human face.
In an appeal to critics, The Lion of Bourdillon Waves LBW, used the opportunity to appeal to political detractors who have tried to misinterpret the Minister’s goodwill.
“For the record, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has never at any forum, in public or private, said he would be vying for the seat of governor in the next election. What is driving him is not ambition, but passion, his passion for his people back home, loyalty to his principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and a creed of greatness through service,” Engr. Oke stated.
“To politicize light, water and roads, is to discourage good governance. We urge critics to see the good heart behind his efforts.”
LBW concluded that while BTO is working at the centre, Ondo State is feeling the impact, and that is what true representation means.
