Legendary Nigerian Highlife musician and cultural icon, Mike Ejeagha, has passed on at the age of 95.
The highlife crooner, widely celebrated for blending traditional Igbo folklore and proverbs into his distinctive musical style, died on Friday night at the 32 Garrison Hospital in Enugu after a prolonged illness.
His eldest son, Emma Ejeagha confirmed his death.
Ejeagha, a highlife crooner and cultural icon, rose to national prominence in the 1980s, becoming a household name with his rich, storytelling approach to music that resonated deeply across generations.
Till the present, his legacy continues to influence contemporary Highlife and Igbo music traditions.
