…applauds Gov Makinde, Oyo people for diligent cooperation with security agencies

The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) has commended President Bola Tinubu and the various security agencies over the successful rescue and safe return of the 44 pupils and teachers abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State since May 15.

BON praised President Tinubu and the various security agencies that took part in the operations, respectively, for exhibiting exemplary political will and a high level of operational competence that contributed to the success of the rescue mission.

The organisation, in a statement on Saturday, by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose, also commended Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State for their “diligent cooperation” with the security agencies, which it said made it possible for the victims to be rescued from their abductors.

The BON statement entitled, “BROADCASTING ORGANISATIONS OF NIGERIA (BON) COMMENDS PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, AND NIGERIAN SECURITY AGENCIES ON THE SUCCESSFUL RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED PUPILS AND TEACHER IN OYO STATE,” reads as follows:

“The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) welcomes with great excitement the news of the successful rescue of school children and a teacher who were kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

‘The entire security apparatus of the country deserves commendation for demonstrating a high level of operational competence during this rescue mission. We salute the bravery and professionalism of our nation’s gallant officers.

“BON congratulates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his exemplary political will, and commends Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State for their diligent cooperation with security agencies, which was instrumental to the success of the operation.

“We call on the leadership of the Nigerian Military, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies to sustain the strong inter-agency collaboration that yielded this positive outcome.

“BON believes that with sustained political will and adequate support for our military and security agencies, the scourge of kidnapping and banditry in Nigeria will be reduced to the barest minimum in due course.

“It is our desire that the other children still languishing in kidnappers’ dens across Borno and other northern states will soon be freed and safely reunited with their families and communities.”

Signed,
Dr.Yemisi Bamgbose
Executive Secretary
