Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre has been fully booked until 2027.

Wike had recently renovated the facility at the cost of N39billion and renamed it the Ahmed Bola Tinubu Conference Centre.

On June 10, 2025, Tinubu inaugurated the newly renovated International Centre to commemorate his second anniversary in office. The inauguration of the project attracted widespread criticism from Nigerians.
Acknowledging the backlash, the minister disclosed that he is currently attempting to adjust the facility’s bookings to accommodate the House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review.

Speaking during the inauguration of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja, Wike noted that the committee had submitted a booking request among many others.

He said, “You know, Nigerians pretend. They like good things, but they will pretend as if they don’t. That Conference Centre has been booked now till 2027, no space.

“In fact, I saw an application by the Deputy Speaker, on Constitutional Amendment. There’s no space, no day.

“I’m trying to adjust if he can pay on time. Because it’s not free. There’s nothing like it’s the National Assembly. You have to pay something for us to sustain the facility.”
