Executive Chairman of Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Hon. Dr. Yahaya Sa’idu, is dead.
His death followed a brief illness.

The council’s Information Officer, Ahmed B. Yusha’u, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday in Yola.
The statement said Sa’idu died at a hospital in Kaduna at about 1:00 a.m on Saturday.
Yusha’u noted that further details about funeral arrangements would be communicated to the public in due course.
The local government chairman’s sudden death has thrown the entire area and the state into mourning as it occurred 18 months after the death of his predecessor, Hon. Shaibu Basbas.
Just like Sai’du, his predecessor, Basbas also died while in office.
Meanwhile, condolences have begun pouring in for the deceased’s immediate family, associates and the people of Fufore Local Government Area.
Former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, expressed shock over the council chairman’s death.
In a personal message shared on his WhatsApp handle on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Senator Abbas described late Sa’idu as a dedicated and industrious leader whose service to the people of Furore and Adamawa State would be deeply missed.
He also prayed Allah to grant the bereaved family and the entire community the fortitude and patience to bear the loss.
“Dr. Yahaya Saidu was a committed leader who gave his best in service to his people. My heart goes out to his family, friends, associates, and the good people of Fufore Local Government Area during this very difficult time,” Senator Abbas mourned.
Similarly, a Senior Special Assistant on security to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Hon Ahmad Lawan, also expressed grief over the demise of the council Chairman, condoling his family, relatives and the people of Fufore local Government Area.
