From Seyi Tayese, Yenagoa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the party’s National Leader and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, following his unequivocal declaration of support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The Bayelsa PDP described Wike’s position, recently reiterated at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, as a significant political statement that reinforces the direction of his political engagement and the need for strategic alignment in the evolving national political landscape.

“Under the leadership of the State Chairman, Hon. Chief Alabh George Turnah, Esq., MON, the Bayelsa State PDP is set to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its preferred presidential candidate in the State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“This proposed endorsement is to reaffirm the State leadership’s steady alignment of its political direction with Wike’s position and to mobilise party stakeholders and supporters towards a common political objective”.

In a statement issued and signed by Hon. Ikaebimo Mark
State Publicity Secretary
Peoples Democratic Party, Bayelsa State and made available to our correspondent via email said, Bayelsa PDP further restates George Turnah’s leadership of the National Rainbow Coalition in the State and his commitment to coordinating the Coalition’s activities in support of President Tinubu’s candidacy. Under his leadership, the Coalition is playing a strategic role in galvanising political stakeholders and strengthening the mobilisation effort ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Party calls on its members, stakeholders, and supporters to remain calm, steadfast, and united as political consultations and preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum. It urges all party faithful to remain focused, sustain mutual confidence, and respect the leadership and decisions that will emerge through the appropriate political processes.
