Bandits massacred no fewer than 75 Muslims during an attack on Woro and Nuku communities of Kaiama Local Government Area in Kwara North Senatorial District of the state on Tuesday.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, disclosed this during a visit to the communities on Wednesday night in company with service chiefs and cabinet members of his government.
He lamented, “75 local Muslims were massacred simply for refusing to surrender to extremists who preached a strange doctrine.”
The Governor revealed that President Bola Tinubu, has approved immediate deployment of an army battalion to prosecute counter offensives codenamed ‘Operation Savannah Shield’.
While commiserating with the community, he said the “incident was different from the situation where people are kidnapped for ransom, as this was a pure massacre.”
Aside the killings, the bandits set houses ablaze in the bloody attack on the communities.
