Police in Zamfara have commenced a coordinated rescue operation to secure the release of six Islamic clerics (Imams) abducted by bandits along the Dakko–Damri feeder road in Bakura Local Government Area. State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement in Gusau on Sunday. Police in Osun State have begun an investigation of the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as “Emir Ajagungbade”, in Ile-Ife, Osun State. State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, disclosed this in a statement issued on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura on Sunday. Emir was killed on Sunday in Ile-Ife. Police said it’s operatives were deployed in the area after authorities were alerted to an accident around Energy Filling Station in Ile-Ife. Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the death of twelve people in a road accident along the Kaduna-Kachia Road in Kaduna State. The road crash was said to have involved two overloaded Volkswagen Golf cars along the Kaduna-Kachia Road. Two other persons were seriously injured in the road crash. FRSC Sector Commander in Kaduna, Mr Andrew Paul Longkam revealed that 14 people were traveling in the two cars while 12 of them met their deaths at Doka Village in Southern Kaduna.
