An angry mob suspected to be thugs loyal to the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, on Monday attacked protesters, said to have come from the Edo State chapter to the party’s Abuja national secretariat to demand Abure’s removal. Trouble began when the anti-Abure protesters stormed the LP headquarters in a number of vehicles, carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs. Kogi State Government says its committed to ensuring those behind the killings of two abducted students of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, are apprehended and appropriately punished. The government stated that the students were killed during negotiations for their release. Lagos Emergency Management Agency, on Sunday, confirmed the rescue of five persons and the recovery of one dead body from a collapsed mosque at Papa Ajao, Mushin, Lagos. LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos. The incident had occurred on Sunday during afternoon prayers.
