…mourns fallen soldiers, civilians
From Tom Garba, Yola
Engr. Ahmed Galadima Aminu (Tijjani), the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in Adamawa State, has strongly condemned the recent attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Zah and Kingin villages in Hong Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his TAG 2027 Campaign Organisation, Galadima expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which occurred on Friday and resulted in the death of two villagers and one soldier.
Describing the attack as “callous and senseless,” the APC candidate said the loss of innocent lives and a gallant soldier was “one death too many.”
“This incident occurred despite the sustained efforts by both the Adamawa State Government under His Excellency Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the Federal Government to address the menace of insecurity,” he stated. “We must not allow such acts of terror to weaken our resolve.”
Galadima commiserated with the families of the victims, the people of Zah and Kingin communities, the Adamawa State Government, and the Nigerian military.
He urged the military and other security agencies to intensify efforts to rid the state of insurgents and criminal elements, while calling on the people of Adamawa to support law enforcement by providing timely and useful intelligence.
“Security is a collective responsibility. While our gallant troops continue to make sacrifices on the frontlines, our communities must play their part by cooperating with security agencies and rejecting any form of collaboration with criminal elements,” Galadima added.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and strength for the bereaved families to bear the loss.
