…urges electorate to support APC flagbearer
Two former Ogun State governors, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD), are backing Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, in his governorship bid for 2027.

National Sports Commission DG, Hon. Bukola Olopade, made the claim on Thursday in Abeokuta.
Bukola Olopade, a former Ogun State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, said he spoke with Amosun only days ago.
He added that Amosun, currently in the United Kingdom for a PhD programme, remains a firm supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
On OGD, Olopade said his personal loyalty and close ties to the former governor give him confidence in his position.
According to him, OGD also supports Governor Dapo Abiodun’s senatorial ambition.
He noted that both ex-governors have remained active as the APC mobilises support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Olopade also rejected claims of division among APC stakeholders in Ogun.
He said such talk comes from opposition figures and does not reflect the reality within the party.
Consultations among party leaders, he added, remain important.
He urged Ogun residents to back the candidacy of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA, describing him as the best candidate for the job.
