Former Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has denied reports circulating on social media that he’s planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress.

The former minister said in a personally signed statement that the report is baseless and unfounded.
Badaru described the reports as false, unfounded and driven by political mischief meant for political gain.
The former Minister stressed that he remains firmly committed to the All Progressives Congress, a party he helped to establish, adding that his loyalty to the party is total and unwavering.
He urged members of the public and supporters of the APC to disregard the misleading claims, reiterating that he has no intention of leaving the party and remains a dedicated member of the APC.
There has been speculation via social media alleging that Badaru is making moves to defect to the opposition ADC.
However, there has been a strong political rivalry among loyalist of the former Minister and the serving Governor Malam Umar Namadi with each group accusing the other of anti-party.
