Senate President Godswill Akpabio, was on Monday, elected the sole All Progressives Congress candidate in the party’s primary in the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.
The primary election was held ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akpabio is currently serving as the 15th president of the Senate.
He was first elected as Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District in 2015, lost in the 2019 senatorial elections and won in the 2023 elections.
