Abia State Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu has once again denied having any hand in the killing of the former President-General of National Association of Ohafia Students, Igwe Akuma Akwu and other crises that rocked Okon-Aku community in Ohafia.
The Abia deputy Governor, in a fresh press release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Cyril Chukwudi Mba, denied his office’s involvement in acts of intimidation and brutality of indigenes of Okon-Aku, as being alleged in the media.

Emetu, who welcomed an independent and transparent investigation into the killing, said justice on the matter can only come through facts, not through media trial.
“If Igwe Akuma had already been shot before the Deputy Governor arrived in Okon-Aku, on what factual basis is he being linked to the shooting.”
He further explained that he had no ancestral, political or traditional interest in Okon-Aku chieftaincy matters, which are governed strictly by custom and law, but only intervened to restore peace and protect lives.
