Renowned Professor of Mass Communication at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Ladi Sandra Adamu, has died at 67 years of age.
Adamu’s death was confirmed on Wednesday by her colleague and lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Associate Prof Muhammad Hashim Suleiman, through a post on his official Facebook page.
It was gathered that Prof. Ladi Adamu, who was the first female professor of broadcasting in Northern Nigeria, died after a prolonged battle with breast cancer.
The broadcast specialist’s sudden death has thrown the ABU Zaria community, particularly the Mass Communication Department, as well as her students and alumni, into deep mourning.
Prof Ladi Adamu was born on January 17, 1958. She hailed from Plateau State, Nigeria.
