…CEO Tom Garba unveils rebranded identity as The General News repositions for 21st century journalism with integrated multi-platform media services

The General News, well known as TGnews has unveiled a new logo, marking a major rebranding and repositioning of the media organisation to match with 21st century journalism.

The new logo which is the trademark version of the company was unveiled by the Chief Executive Officer and Director General of the organisation, Mr Tom Garba.

The unveiling signals a new chapter for TGnews, from a news platform to an integrated multi-platform media and communications company.

The new trademark logo retains the bold identity of TGNews but with a more modern global and professional finish.

It features a bold blue “TG” with a gold swoosh wrapping around a globe sitting above a bold red “NEWS” banner in white letters.

The blue represents trust, professionalism and stability. The gold represents excellence, value and leadership. The globe represents TGnews’ global outlook and its commitment to telling Nigerian stories to the world. The red “NEWS” represents urgency, boldness and the power of journalism.

It is no longer just a logo. It is a trademark. It is a brand identity built for television, radio, print, online, mobile and international representation.

In a statement signed by the TGnews Senior Editor, Mr Emmanuel Kwada, the company said the rebranding is in line with its new policy that has repositioned itself to match with 21st century journalism.

According to the statement, TGnews is no longer operating as a single-platform news outlet. It is now operating as an Integrated Multi-Platform Media & Communications Services company.

The new policy focuses on five key value propositions:

– Multi-Platform Reach

– Strategic Communication

– Brand Visibility

– Media for Business & Development

As part of the new policy, the company has opened an office in Abuja as its Nigeria Head Office, where it will operate and coordinate all its national and international activities.

The Nigeria Head Office is located at:
The Abia House office in partnership with gold trade company will serve as the nerve centre for editorial coordination, TV production, media consulting, corporate communications, international representation and strategic partnerships. While the Yola, Adamawa office which is at No.43 Atiku Abubakar way JImeta will remains its Northern region head office.

The move places TGnews at the centre of national decision-making, in the heart of the Federal Capital Territory, while retaining its strong grassroots presence across the states.

The repositioning comes with a full Services Portfolio unveiled alongside the new logo. The portfolio shows TGnews as a complete media house:
