Daughter of the late Chief Bisi Onabanjo, the first executive governor of Ogun State, Madam Bukola Onabanjo, has stated that the governorship election of 2027 is an opportunity for the people of Ijebuland to repay a debt they owe the Yewa by supporting the 2027 All Progressives Congress governorship candidate from Yewa, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly called Yayi.

Speaking during the APC flagbearer’s continuation of his Stakeholders’ Town Hall meeting at Ijebu Ode, Madam Onabanjo recalled that in 1978, the people of Yewa supported her father to be governor, stressing that all the good foundation laid by his father as a governor would not have been possible without the electoral support of the Yewa.

This was contained in a statement on Saturday by the
Media Adviser to Senator Adeola and Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee of Ogun State APC Campaign Council, High Chief Kayode Odunaro.

While calling for massive Ijebu support for Senator Adeola’s election as governor in 2027, Madam Onabanjo expressed happiness said that the Yewa are presenting a formidable candidate with outstanding performance in public service, adding that Senator Adeola had demonstrated enough goodwill by embarking on major infrastructural projects in Ijebu Ode Local Government Area.

“I am happy that the time has come for the people of Ijebu to repay their debt to the people of Yewa in terms of political support for my father. Senator Adeola, the APC candidate is the best candidate based on his antecedents of performance and being of Yewa extraction” she stated.

Other prominent indigenes of Ijebu Ode, who spoke in support of the daughter of late Onabanjo included Chief Agboola Alausa, the head of the Olorituns of Ijebu Ode; Hon. Femi Ogunbanwo,(APC,Ijebu Ode/Odogbolu/Ijebu North Federal Constituency); Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, former deputy governor of Ogun State; Otunba Dapo Okubadejo, the Ogun State Commissioner for Finance; Hon Rasaq Dadah, APC candidate for Ijebu Ode/Odogbolu/Ijebu North Federal Constituency and the Chairman of of Ijebu Ode LGA, Mr. Damilare Alebiosu.

Addressing the gathering that included CDCs, CDAs, CAN, League of Imams, NUT, NULGE, Royal Fathers, Baales and other civil society groups, Senator Adeola said he had embarked on 15 infrastructure projects in Ijebu Ode, including roads, a four-storey hospital building and the renovation of Ojude Oba Pavilion, adding that more projects are coming for Ijebu Ode with an immediate donation of a transformer to a CDA.

The APC governorship called on the people to vote massively for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a major beneficiary of his Renewed Hope Agenda on infrastructure, adding that all other APC candidates that will work with him and the President should be elected for continued progress and prosperity.

He said his 9-Pillar ITESIWAJU agenda for Ogun State will greatly factor in Ijebu Ode with a promise to work on the solid foundation laid by Prince Abiodun for economic growth and prosperity.

The Senator was accompanied to the meeting by Senator Lekan Mustapha, the DG of Ogun APC Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council; Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Balogun, APC Deputy Governorship candidate; Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu, Vice DG(Political), APC Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council; Hon.
