What I told Osimhen before he allowed me take penalty against Konyaspor – Leão
Galatasaray winger, Rafael Leão has revealed what he told teammate, Victor Osimhen before the Nigerian gave him the ball to take a penalty against Konyaspor.
Leão and Osimhen were on the scoresheet as Galatasaray defeated Konyaspor 4-0 in the Turkish Super Lig clash on Friday.
Leão’s goal against Konyaspor was his first goal for Galatasaray since joining the club from AC Milan in the summer transfer window.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, the Portugal international also thanked Osimhen for allowing him to take the penalty.
“I’m very grateful to him [Osimhen]. He knows how much I struggled for that goal,” Leão said.
“Yesterday, Osimhen had his second child. So I told him this: you need to score 2 goals today. He scored the first one, but during the penalty, he gave the ball to me. We have a great group.”
Leão will now hope to lead Galatasaray to victory when they face VfB Stuttgart in their next match in the Champions League on Tuesday.
