Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has admitted that Jurrien Timber and Mikel Merino may not play again this season.

Arteta dropped the big hint on Friday, while answering questions from the media, ahead of their Premier league trip to West Ham.

When asked about the availability of Timer and Merino, he said: “No chance for the weekend.”

On their chances of being available before the end of the season, Arteta replied: “I don’t know.

“There’s a fair bit to do.

“Everything has to be so smooth and quick if they want the chance to play any minutes.”

Timber has not played since the Carabao Cup final defeat to City on March 22, while Merino is recovering from a broken foot.
