Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, reaffirmed his determination to seek re-election, alleging coordinated attempts by political enemies to force him out of office.
The President in a strongly worded statement, portrayed himself as resilient in the face of mounting criticism while alleging political scheming.
He said, “They tried to get rid of me, but I refused to go. I am a very stubborn politician.
“I will campaign for my second term, and I will win.”
Tinubu further accused unnamed rivals, including former allies, of exploiting Nigeria’s security situation to weaken his administration and advance their political interests.
“You were played into the hands of brigades, including my old enemies, who want to use insecurity to push me out,” he stated.
The President’s remarks come amid heightened political activity and growing debate over governance and security, as stakeholders begin positioning ahead of the next general elections.
Observers note that Tinubu’s comments underscore the increasingly charged political climate, with indications pointing to a fiercely contested race for power.
