Indigenes of Ibadan under the auspices of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, on Sunday, declared that the crisis between Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja has been resolved.
CCII made this declaration in a statement by its President-General, Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole.
The statement was made available on Sunday through the CCII Publicity Secretary, Kola Olomide.
There were rumours of alleged moves by Governor Makinde to dethrone the monarch.
The said dethronement move was linked to another alleged plan to impeach the governor.
CCII which is the apex socio-cultural group in the ancient city, in the statement, noted that the crisis had been laid to rest.
The council declared that external forces that attempted to escalate the situation have been defeated.
It debunked the alleged dethronement and impeachment plots.
CCII explained that the disagreement between the Governor and the Olubadan has been addressed through dialogue and traditional conflict-resolution mechanisms in Ibadanland.
The CCII statement read, “The issues between Governor Makinde and the Olubadan have been resolved amicably, and the external forces that attempted to create a crisis around the situation have been defeated.
“Nobody is planning to impeach Governor Makinde, and nobody is also planning to remove the Olubadan from his throne.”
