Independent National Electoral Commission, on Friday, debunked a false graphics circulating online that claims it has set March 26 as the deadline for government officials seeking election to resign.
INEC in a statement on Friday posted via its official X handle, stressed that the information did not originate from the electoral body, declaring the graphics as misleading and unverified.
INEC urged members of the public, media organisations and political stakeholders to disregard the circulating message entirely.
It reiterated that all official announcements are communicated exclusively through its verified channels, including the official website: inecnigeria.org, Verified social media platforms, and Official press releases.
“Citizens are encouraged to confirm election-related information through these channels and avoid sharing unverified content that could cause confusion,” it stated.
INEC reaffirmed its commitment to providing accurate, timely and transparent information to the public.
