State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Wednesday, unanimously expressed their support for the National Working Committee led by the party’s National Chairman, Dr Tanimu Turaki.
The 36 state and Federal Capital Territory chairmen made this known during an interactive meeting held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center, Abuja.

The state PDP chairmen stated their collective resolve to ensure stability, unity and success for the main opposition party under the current leadership.
Chairman of the PDP State Chairmen’s Forum, who is also Chairman of the Edo State Chapter, Dr Tony Aziegbemi, who spoke on behalf of the forum, noted that the NWC, under Turaki’s guidance, had demonstrated exceptional commitment to internal democracy and party rebuilding.
“We are here today to send a clear message: We are solidly behind Tanimu Turaki-led PDP NWC,” Aziegbemi declared.
According to him, “We acknowledge the challenges, but more importantly, we see the unwavering dedication of the NWC to upholding the party’s constitution and preparing us for future electoral victories.”
Stressing that the PDP needed cohesion more than ever before, the state chairmen condemned any action or rhetoric aimed at destabilising the main opposition party.
They stressed that unity remains essential for the party to play its critical role as a viable opposition and credible alternative for Nigerians.
