Portable, the controversial Nigerian singer, has claimed that he received N2 million as compensation from Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, after complaining about the bad road in the state.
Earlier this week, Portable called out Abiodun over the deplorable state of roads in Ogun.
In a series of Instagram posts, the singer shared a video of his Range Rover car stuck in a ditch while blaming Abiodun.
He said the governor should “step aside if he cannot fix the roads” and allow Solomon ‘Yayi’ Adeola, Ogun west senator, to “repair” them.
Portable, who recently returned from the United States after an international tour, also expressed his desire for Yayi to become the next Ogun governor.
“Earthly mothers, pray for my car to get out of this ditch. Dapo Abiodun, please help us fix our roads or let Yayi do it. Let someone willing to,” he said.
“I just returned from America. In America, cars don’t get dirty or stuck in ditches. Yayi come and repair the roads if Dapo cannot.”
But in a video circulating on social media on Friday, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker alleged that the governor compensated him with N2 million after his criticism of the state’s roads.
Portable also claimed Abiodun promised that all the bad roads in Ogun will be fixed.
“I have been given N2 million. Dapo Abiodun said he will construct all the roads in Ogun state. They said he will build all the roads,” he said.
Abiodun had earlier claimed his administration has constructed over 600 kilometres of roads and at least three roads in each state’s local government.
