. Women capable of empowering, educating elevating society, says Founder, Busayo Oluyemi

A Non-Governmental Organization, She Matters Initiative has trained no fewer than 120 female students and empowered them to become future change-makers in the society.

The Initiative organised the groundbreaking programme aimed at empowering, educating and elevating female students on November 6, 2024, with the theme, “A Female Can Be More,” and held at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

The programme brought together the 120 enthusiastic female participants, all eager to learn, grow and connect with the like-minded individuals.

The programme’s objective was to inspire and motivate the young women to reach their full potential, break free from societal limitations and expectations.

Through a series of engaging activities, workshops and discussions, the participants gained valuable insights into their strengths, passions and goals.

The highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by the Guest Speaker, Miss Oyelowo Bolanle.

Oyelowo, who emphasised the need to elevate and empower young women, shared her own experiences and challenges, encouraging the participants to strive for excellence and never give up on their dreams.

Her words of wisdom and inspiration resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impact on the young minds.

In her remarks, the Founder of She Matter Initiative, Mrs. Busayo Oluyemi, charged the female students to be dedicated, passionate, and committed to their goals.

She emphasised that with hard work and perseverance, they can break barriers and achieve greatness.

Mrs. Oluyemi’s passion and commitment to empowering females were evident throughout the programme, and her words served as powerful reminder to the participants of their potential and capabilities.

One of the most significant aspects of the programme was the emphasis on menstrual health and hygiene. Each participant received a package of sanitary pads, a thoughtful gesture that acknowledged the importance of accessibility and affordability in maintaining good menstrual health.

This act of kindness not only demonstrated the organisers’ commitment to the well-being of the participants, but also helped to normalise conversations around menstruation.

The success of the programme was evident in the feedback from the participants, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with others, share their experiences, and learn from the speakers.

The event created a safe space for these young women to open up, be themselves, and celebrate their individuality.

As the She Matter Initiative continues to empower and support female students, it is clear that their efforts are making a tangible difference in the lives of these young women.

By providing a platform for education, growth, and connection, the initiative is helping to shape a brighter, more inclusive future for generations to come.

In conclusion, the She Matter Initiative’s programme on November 6, 2024, was a resounding success, empowering 120 female students to be more, achieve more, and become the change-makers of tomorrow.

“As we look to the future, it is essential that we continue to support and amplify initiatives like this, which are dedicated to uplifting and celebrating the potential of young women everywhere,” Oluyemi said.
